Solar farms have the potential to produce hundreds of megawatts of energy (depending on the area of land), which is then sold to the energy grid or an energy retailer for example. Approximately 25 acres of land is required for every 5 megawatts of installation, which is enough to power 1,515 homes.

 

Before a solar farm can be installed, you will need to gain planning permission and electricity grid consent.
